Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney Thinks Her Madame Web Co-Star Dakota Johnson “Is So Hot”

Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney has opened up about working opposite Dakota Johnson in Sony’s forthcoming Marvel movie Madame Web.

Speaking to Variety at the 11th annual LACMA Art + Film Gala on Saturday (Nov 5), Sweeney said she was “a little nervous” sharing scenes with Johnson. “I have to say — I snuck [into] Fifty Shades of Grey in high school,” she said. “My parents didn’t let me watch it and I watched it. So I’m a huge fan of hers. She’s so hot.”

When interviewer Marc Malkin asked, “Have you told her that?”, Sweeney said, “No! But, Dakota, you’re hot and I loved working with you.”

Right now, plot details about the latest entry in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe are scarce. But this much we know: the movie is directed by S J Clarkson (who’s known for her TV works, notably The Defenders, Jessica Jones and more recently, Anatomy of a Scandal) and Johnson stars as the title character of Cassandra ‘Madame’ Web, a clairvoyant mutant. No word on what role Sweeney is playing. Production reportedly wrapped last month.

Speaking of Fifty Shades of Grey, Kelly Marcel, who wrote the screenplay of the first movie based on EL James’ bestselling erotic novel, will make her directorial debut with Venom 3, starring Tom Hardy again as journo Eddie Brock and the titular alien symbiote. Marcel wrote and produced 2018’s Venom and the 2021 sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
