Rita Ora says she feels ‘so welcomed, loved and supported in Australia’ after spending time Down Under for The Voice – as she celebrates the release of her new album

Rita Ora has become a staple of Sydney’s social scene since joining The Voice Australia as a judge in 2021.

The British popstar, 32, is often photographed enjoying glitzy events in the city, and has quickly called it her second home as she spends a big portion of her year filming here for the singing competition.

She loves the country so much, she decided to launch her first album since 2018 in Sydney.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph at the launch of her album You & I this week, Rita said she has always felt so welcomed by Australians.

‘I am really happy to celebrate my album in Australia where I feel so welcome and loved and supported,’ she said.

She added: ‘I just hope everybody enjoys the album and feels really connected to it and it inspires somebody that needs it.’

She arrived at the glamorous event with her Hollywood filmmaker husband Taika Waititi, 47.

Rita looked flawless as she donned a corseted top  that left little to the imagination, paired with a connected flowy skirt.

Speaking about her new album, Rita likened it to a ‘diary’, suggesting it would be her most personal offering to fans yet as she named it after her husband.

She said: ‘This album really means a lot to me. It’s like my diary of the last few years. It’s my sound and it just feels so true to me and who I am today.’
