“I’m a little shin-kicker, I always have been… and I’ve always gotten away with it because I was such a cute little sh*t,” Bella Thorne told me during a recent conversation about weed, porn, and other provocative topics. This quote just stuck with me.
A shin-kicker, a rebel indeed, Bella started her career in entertainment as a child model and actress. She gained mainstream fame after her role at the Disney Channel’s series Shake It Up, and has since been in the public eye – and plenty of shows and films. Bella has also recorded numerous songs, wrote a book, and recently pivoted toward cinematic direction, debuting with an adult film Her & Him, which got Pornhub’s Vision Award earlier this year.

Somehow, Bella has also found time to get into cannabis, launching a cannabis and CBD brand in partnership with Glass House Group’s Glass House Farms: Forbidden Flowers.
‘I Don’t Believe In Any Form Of Pills’
Mary Jane is no stranger to Bella. In fact, they’ve been friends for a few years now.
“I don’t believe in any form of pills; I won’t even take an Advil or a Tylenol,” she explained. “So it was a struggle for me… And then my brother told me to smoke weed when I was 16 (almost 17) and it was the first thing that actually helped me do anything really, with trying to figure out my stomach, and my anxiety, and never sleeping, basically being an insomniac.”
Following this initial approach and positive experience, Bella decided to delve deeper into cannabis, its history, and its medical potential, determined to prove all haters wrong.
“I started coming across all the health benefits and all the crazy stories, where cannabis cured this guy’s skin cancer, it cured this and that… It has like effects on this… all these different things,” she remembered.
“I felt the world was trying to beat marijuana down because it was such a good thing and that is what we do to good things…”

This got her really pissed with the Western medical system and its eagerness to profit off extended treatments in detriment of patients and natural options. “I felt the world was trying to beat marijuana down because it was such a good thing and that is what we do to good things… The medical system has made us think that this is bad, that you can die from this. But, who has ever died from smoking weed? Guys, calm down!”
“I know that I’m hot, and I’m down with being hot. And I think that’s dope. And I smoke weed,” she added. “It has definitely been annoying to get people to accept me as I am, but it’s nice now, because it feels like everyone is accepting my image finally.”
