But now it seems Lindsay Lohan has returned to form, with a sexy photoshoot in Vanity Fair Italy magazine.

The actress looks stunning in the shots, taken by renowned photographer Alan Gelati, and shows off her figure in outfits including a long feathered evening dress and a sexy nude basque.

Despite having starred in a series of film flops such as I Know Who Killed Me and Labor Pains in recent years, Lindsay is clearly keen to reestablish herself as a serious actress.

And she recently signed up to play Kim Gotti, the wife of John Gotti Jr., in mob boss movie GOTTI: In The Shadow Of My Father.

Talking about the role, Lindsay said: ‘In October, I’ll begin work. I hope to spend next year on set.’

Meanwhile, Lindsay was yesterday seen relaxing on the beach for the second day in a row over the holiday weekend.

Wearing an over-sized shirt and tiny black shorts, Lindsay joined friends for a Fourth of July fireworks display in Malibu, California.

She also kept her face covered with large vintage style sunglasses.

Lindsay sat against the wall of a beach house smoking cigarettes and drinking sugar-free Red Bull while her friends partied around her.

She was even joined by former girlfriend Courtenay Semel who sat alongside her as they waited for the display to start.

After 35 days under house arrest, the Hollywood star has been making the most of her new-found freedom.

On Sunday the troubled star enjoyed a post 25th birthday morning stroll in the sunshine in plush Paradise Cove in Malibu, California.

Also yesterday, Lindsay’s father Michael showed up to court to face charges of domestic violence.

However, when Lohan’s former girlfriend Kate Major, whom Lohan was accused of hitting, did not show up to court, the case was dropped.
