Lindsay Lohan Channeled Her Inner Kardashian This Weekend

Lindsay Lohan has embraced the sheer, floor-sweeping gowns beloved by nearly every female member of the Kardashian-Jenner fam, wearing two separate styles this weekend. For the FIA Formula E Visa ePrix Gala in London last night she picked a long-sleeve style that showed off a pair of briefs and her bra, much like similar picks the world has seen from Kim and krew. The dress style is a mainstay in Kim Kardashian’s closet and now Kylie Jenner’s too; both sisters attended an event in Cannes last week in dueling options. Kylie’s snowy-white two-piece style was from Italian designer Francesco Scognamiglio, the same gent who’s been squiring Lindsay around Italy as a guest of honor for his birthday festivities (and ostensibly lending her the black-and-white sheer number she rocked while partying). @maisonfrancescoscognamiglio tanti auguri amore mio ??@nicolaguiducci A photo posted by Lindsay Lohan (@lindsaylohan) on Jun 26, 2015 at 1:30pm PDT Kylie’s white Scognamiglio number, worn to last week’s party, garnered headlines suggesting she copied Kim’s Roberto Cavalli Met Gala look from this year.

Kylie’s white Scognamiglio number, worn to last week’s party, garnered headlines suggesting she copied Kim’s Roberto Cavalli Met Gala look from this year.

While the two dresses are very different, with Kylie’s showing more skin and Kim’s relying on a heavy dose of glamorous feathers, there’s no denying that both make use of the sexy sheer thing.

If there’s a serious question about which Kardashian family member wore the sheer dress first, we’d have to give the win to Kim. As the older sis, she’s been attending red carpet events for longer than Kylie, racking up more opportunities to go sheer. Her new, Kanye-aided style sophistication has also seen her turn the tarty fabric into something that’s undeniably chic, as evidenced by the see-through skirt she chose for a visit to Jimmy Kimmel’s set this spring.

But really, when it comes to sheer dresses, we’ve got to acknowledge that Jennifer Lopez is the real O.G. of it all.
