18-year-old Madison Beer first gained notoriety when Justin Bieber tweeted a clip of her singing – since then, the American teenager has built up a following of over 300,000 on her Youtube channel, and 9.6million on Instagram as well as signing a record deal with Island.

Her fame factor was nudged up a level this weekend though, after she was pictured kissing 18 year-old Brooklyn Beckham in Barney’s department store in Beverly Hills last weekend having first been photographed together at a party in London last month.

For those of us who, at 18, shopped for bronzer in Superdrug and party dresses in H&M or Etam, Madison Beer’s fashionable life isn’t exactly relatable. But if you thought choosing a dress to wear to a house party was hard, imagine choosing one to meet your new boyfriend’s mother – if your new boyfriend’s mother was fashion designer Victoria Beckham. Yeesh. Here’s what you need to know about her style…

Madison loves a vintage tee
From cult 80s film Labyrinth (maybe she’s watched it on Netflix) to the Rocket Man himself, grungy t-shirts are staples in Beer’s wardrobe – often knotted up or cut off to showcase that teenage flat tum.

She wears her oversized denim jacket oversized…
This one pre-dates Beckham, so we can’t blame the jacket on him, but it’s certainly big enough to belong to Beer’s celebrity-sprog other half. Worn open, and usually falling off one shoulder, over mini-dresses, the price-per-wear for this buy must be through the floor.

…And her jeans ripped
Though artfully so. These aren’t ‘I tripped and fell’ rips, they’re store-bought ones.

She owns more bra-tops than you’ve had hot dinners
Sporty ones, lace-up ones, skin-tone ones. Usually paired with high-waisted track pants.

This one is pretty much a given with teenagers, though: hands up if you ever rolled up your school uniform skirt for the walk to the bus stop.
