Katy Perry is known for her ever changing hair cut and colour, but fans can’t get enough of her latest look which sees her bringing back one of her most iconic hairstyles

Never one to stick to the same style for too long, it seems Katy Perry has changed up her hair once more, although this time rather than going for something new, she’s brought back one of her more iconic looks.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Katy shared a video where she revealed to fans that it was the 15 year anniversary of her album One of the Boys, which featured her breakout song I Kissed a Girl, as well as other big hits like Hot n Cold and Waking up in Vegas.

Although the video was announcing the anniversary of several of her albums, including Teenage Dream which turned 13 this year, and the release of a limited edition album boxset to commemorate the occasion, it seems plenty of fans couldn’t stop talking about Katy’s hair.

In the video, the Firework singer can be seen with her hair styled into long dark waves with her iconic micro fringe firmly back in place.

Katy had first debuted her recent micro fringe whilst a judge on American Idol, but that wasn’t the first time the singer opted for baby bangs. Katy first rocked the style during the One of the Boys era of music, with her fringe chopped short in her earlier music videos.

One fan wrote: “She brought back the One Of The Boys era hair”, whilst another gushed: “ICONIC!!! And this look is everything!”.

Katy’s celebrity friends and fans were also obsessed with her hair, with singer Jessie Ware writing: “LOVE THIS HAIRRRR”. Meanwhile celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin alluded to the bangs not being a permanent feature, as she wrote: “CUT THESE BANGS IMMEDIATELY I LOVE THEM SO MUCH”.

Despite having the micro fringe in place for several weeks on American Idol, not long after there was no sign of them, with Katy returning back to her much longer face framing layers and centre parting just days after being spotted with her micro fringe.

The sudden switch up means there’s a high chance her iconic mini fringe is either a temporary clip in, or a clever hairstyling trick designed to look like a fringe but without the commitment.

The micro fringe has definitely become one of the hottest trends of the season, with plenty of celebs seen rocking the style, either temporarily like Katy, or braving a more permanent chop, like Gossip Girl actress Leighton Meester.

For Katy, the blunt edged cut works well with her long, straight hair, and she styled it in a sideways sweeping motion to stop it looking too harsh on her forehead, with the choppy texture softening up the bluntness of the cut.

Only time will tell whether Katy commits to the baby bangs full time, or whether we’ll be seeing a brand new style on her in the near future!
