LINDSAY Lohan had a furious bust up with her fiancé after months of wild partying left her suffering crazed rages and delusions, her pals have claimed.
Friends of the troubled actress, 30, say she is regularly gripped by severe bouts of paranoia brought on by daily vodka binges.
And they revealed that on one occasion she even tried to call the FBI on imaginary spies that she believed had bugged her house with recording devices.
Cops this week smashed into the actress’s posh London flat after she suffered a meltdown on the balcony, accusing Egor Tarabasov of attacking her.
The Hollywood star was heard shouting at 5am: “He just strangled me. He almost killed me.”
But after police officers broke in they found the Knightsbridge flat empty – later confirming that no crime had been committed and no arrests made.
And sources close to Lindsay last night claimed the episode was “standard behaviour” for the A-Lister, saying that she has grown increasingly paranoid.
Lifting the lid on her chaotic life, one said: “This is Lindsay all over. She’ll rant about being taken of advantage of, then apologise and change her story.
“It’s grasping for attention and cries for help, because she really does need help.
“Last year was meant to be her comeback and she had lots of opportunities lined up, but she ruined them by not turning up or making crazy demands.
“Now most days she’ll wake up, drink vodka – she drinks about three bottles a day – watch TV, eat McDonalds, and then start getting ready to go out.
“And her wild-partying has really taken its toll on her.
“Before she and Egor got engaged, she was constantly frightened that she was being watched by people who she claimed were obsessed with her.
“Once she even tried to call the FBI because she thought her flat was bugged.
“On another occasion she was thrown out of Lou Lou’s club because she kicked off over a photo booth that she thought had been bugged by an ex.
“Another time she accused chefs at Nobu of spiking her food with nuts, and claimed she was allergic to them – even though she isn’t in the slightest.
“This is the kind of behaviour those around her have to put up with, including Egor.
“Not only is he a fresh target for her paranoia, but he has also been expected to fund her glamorous lifestyle, because Lindsay has no money of her own.
“She mainly lives by scrounging from others, because she hasn’t worked since last June.”
A second source added: “Lindsay does seem to be rinsing Egor on a daily basis.
“He himself has said to his friends that she is out of control, and has been asking her pals if she is always like this, and if he has any hope of controlling her.
“Not only has she racked up excessive debts, but she’s got a compulsive shopping and spending problem and expects to be flown around the world privately.
“He tries to desperately to please her, but he seems completely out of his depth.
“It will come as a big surprise if this engagement ends in a marriage.”
The Parent Trap actress – who shot to fame aged just 10 – moved to the UK last year following a stint in rehab for drink-related offences in the States.
But the news of her latest meltdown will shock fans who believed she was back on the straight and narrow after winning praise on the London stage.
Troubled Lindsay surprised all of her critics in 2014 when she appeared in David Mamet’s Speed the Plow – and went on to unexpectedly steal the show.
But despite her success, pals claimed the star – who has been in rehab at least six times – soon fell back into a dangerous downwards spiral of partying.
And they said her erratic behaviour saw her push away many of those around her long before Egor came on the scene.
Another source said: “Basically, if you are friends with Lindsay you learn quickly that you’re going to spend a lot of time apologising for and to her.
“She thinks she can go wherever she wants and behave however she wants because she’s famous, and you’re left following behind saying sorry.
“It can be incredibly embarrassing when she kicks off, because now that she fancies herself to be a Muslim she’ll scream and shout in bad Arabic.
“After that, apologies often aren’t enough. She was banned from Chiltern Firehouse for throwing an awful tantrum and Selfridges have banned her too.
“That came after she trashed the personal styling department. But she had also kept items on loan – including an Azzedine Alaia dress worth £2,500.
“Ironically, since then, she has accused friends of stealing from her.
“She even threatened to take one of her former friends to court for stealing expensive earrings that she later admitted she had found at home.
“It’s no wonder that friends, boyfriends and apparently now fiancés come and go with her.”
Lindsay, who was forced to serve community service last year over a 2012 reckless driving charge, has been secretly dating Egor since last year.
But she has also been linked in the past year to Manchester City ace Samir Nasri and Mathia Milani.
And in January she shone a spotlight on her tangled love life when she appeared to claim that a man had hit her, posting a snap online of her bloodied leg.
The Instagram post – which was deleted soon after – read: “Don’t stay with the wrong guy. There goes something that I thought was good.
“Be true to yourself and NEVER let a guy hit you.”
There is no suggestion that Egor was to blame for the star’s wounds.
And three months later he proposed with an emerald engagement ring which she was seen sporting as she celebrated with family at a Duran Duran concert.
But earlier this month there appeared to be trouble in paradise when the pair had a massive bust-up in Mykonos – which ended up with his phone in the sea.
Lindsay was said to have reached boiling point when she read a suspicious text on Egor’s phone at a beach club, and angrily lobbed his mobile into the water.
And disaster struck again last week, when she launched into a late night rant about his “cheating”.
In a bizarre stream of messages, she attacked him for being at a nightclub with another woman, and accused him of lying about his whereabouts.
Posting an image of her and her love on Instagram, she wrote: “I guess I was the same at 23… S****y time – it changes at 26/27.
“@e2505t thanks for not coming home tonight. Fame changes people.”
