Demi Lovato kicked off her Tell Me You Love Me Tour on Feb. 26 in San Diego with a sold-out show at Viejas Arena. Since then, the pop singer’s opening run of the tour has grossed just north of $20 million, landing her atop the Billboard Hot Tours chart.
The tour has touched down in 20 cities so far, wrapping the North American leg on April 2 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Lovato will head to Europe next, picking up in the U.K. on May 24, and will hit arenas and festivals through June. This fall, the GRAMMY nominees’ world trek continues as she sets her sites on Latin America, starting with a Sep. 20 show in Mexico.
Unfortunately, the South American leg of the tour had to be rescheduled earlier this week due to “production issues,” and shows in Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Panama had to be canceled. Lovato said in a tweet, “I’m absolutely heartbroken,” about the cancellations.
This world tour comes in support of Lovato’s latest album, You Tell Me You Love Me, her sixth, which she released last September after its lead single, “Sorry Not Sorry,” climbed to No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 ahead of the album drop.
Lovato earned her first GRAMMY nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 59th GRAMMY Awards for her previous album, Confident. She also appears alongside A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip on one of two recently released Elton John tribute albums, Revamp, in a rendition of “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.”
