Since going platinum blonde, Perry and her stylist, Jamie Mizrahi, have kept things sleek and consistently fashion-forward. In keeping with that mood, Perry’s outfit for the Vanity Fair Oscars party was a dramatic piece of Jean Paul Gaultier dress. The bronze number, with its metallic sheen, beading, and asymmetrical shoulders, was sophisticated and a far cry from the cupcake dresses and costumes Perry once wore.

Though Perry’s party look was refreshingly grown-up, it didn’t skimp on the fun. With multiple slits creating a floor-grazing fringe that sparkled each time she moved, Perry’s gown was provocative and just a little unorthodox.
