Billie Eilish says she was ‘super religious’ as a child

Billie Eilish was “super religious” as a child despite none of her family being so, the singer has said.

The Grammy Award winner made the revelation on her podcast me & dad radio, which sees her host a radio show put together by herself and her father Patrick O’Connell.

Touching upon the depth of the faith she once held, she shared: “I don’t know if any of you know — I don’t think I’ve ever talked about it. When I was little, when I was a little kid, I was super religious for no damn reason.

“My family never was religious. I didn’t know anyone that was religious. And for some reason, as a little girl, I just was incredibly religious.”

“And then at one point, I don’t know what happened. It just completely went away,” she added.

The 18-year-old went on to say the sudden shift in beliefs made her “almost anti-religious” but she became more open-minded on the matter. Eilish opined that it’s “very pathetic” to be close minded as she explained how she loves to hear about other’s beliefs nowadays.

Aside from her faith, Eilish had another big passion as a youngster: Justin Bieber.

The pair are friends now, but the Ocean Eyes hitmaker has been candid about her past devotion to the Baby singer, explaining that her bedroom walls were covered in his posters and that she would be moved to tears while listening to his music.

Meanwhile Bieber, 26, has previously opened up about his desire to “protect” Eilish from “losing it” due to the pressures of fame.
