‘My dad was an addict and an alcoholic,’ she explained. ‘Guess I always searched for what he found in drugs and alcohol because it fulfilled him and he chose that over a family.’

Demi checked into rehab for the first time in 2010. She returned to a sober facility three years later for additional therapy.

‘I got no excuses,’ she says in her latest single. ‘I wanna be a role model, but I’m only human.’
