Straight talking! The former Disney star has spoken out about unrealistic body expectations
It came just a few days after the singer showed off her legs while wearing a different bathing suit.

The Stone Cold singer paired the photo with a confident caption, writing, ‘I don’t have a thigh gap and I’m still beautiful the way I am.’

‘#EVERYbodyisbeautiful’: Demi Lovato shared a confident, body positive message with followers on Friday, telling her fans that you don’t have to have a thigh gap to be beautiful
She tagged the post ‘#recovery’, ‘#selflove’, and ‘#EVERYbodyisbeautiful.’

The ‘gap’ refers to ‘a space between the upper thighs of a person standing with their legs together,’ which has become a symbol of thinness and beauty to many.

The Latin beauty regularly speaks out about unrealistic body expectations.

In a interview, the Heart Attack singer told Entertainment Tonight that she gets frustrated ‘when things like that are set in society’s ideal of what beauty is’ and how those unrealistic ideals get ‘put into your brain.’

‘If you have [a gap] naturally, then great, embrace what you have.

‘But, if you don’t have one naturally, you don’t have to starve yourself or engage in unhealthy behaviors — if you don’t have a thigh gap naturally, it doesn’t mean you aren’t beautiful,’ explained the starlet.

Confident: Demi’s been a beacon of body positivity in the shallow show business world, often commenting on the unrealistic expectations her industry promotes. Above you can see the star on an April 5 episode of The Late Late Show With James Corden

Though Demi exudes confidence now, it’s been a learning process for the starlet.

In the past the former Disney star has struggled with eating disorders and self acceptance, but has now come to love the body she has.

‘I no longer look at my body and think, Oh my gosh, I have such a fat butt. Or, I hate my thighs. On some days I don’t love them. But, you know, that’s one of the things that makes me,’ she explained in a 2014 interview.

Demi currently has a new single out and fresh music video on the way. The Dallas-born beauty sings on No Promises with EDM act Cheat Codes.
