Did Ariana Grande Secretly Change Her Face?

Some fans are labeling Ariana Grande’s changing face as a result of plastic surgery while the artist herself has something else to say.

Ariana Grande has had several controversies due to her changing looks. There’s the discussion about her actual height, the alleged race-fishing in her excess tanning, and the millions she once spent on diamond teeth. Having been in the spotlight since she was 15, a lot of fans have seen the singer’s face change through the years. So when she appeared unrecognizable on a 2019 magazine cover, fans were quick to ᴀssume she had plastic surgery…

When Did Fans Start To Notice Ariana Grande’s Changing Face?
Grande surprised fans when she looked unrecognizable on her August 2019 Vogue cover. “Noooo, sorry this is not ok. Ari does not look like this at all,” a fan wrote. “All I see is plastic surgery […] I didn’t recognize her!” Though the singer didn’t address the comments, she had something to say to the people who were criticizing her image at the time. “I like having my funny character that I play that feels like this exaggerated version of myself. It protects me,” she told the magazine of her pop sweetheart persona.

“But also I love disrupting it for the sake of my fans and making clear that I’m a person—because that’s something I enjoy fighting for,” she continued. “I can’t help disrupt it. I’m incredibly impulsive and pᴀssionate and emotional and just reckless. The music is very personal and very real, but yes, if you can be me for Halloween, if drag queens can dress up as me, then I’m a character. Go to your local drag bar, and you’ll see it. That’s, like, the best thing that’s ever happened to me. It’s better than winning a Grammy.”

But despite her wonderful explanation of her image, fans still found it offensive that she looked “too tanned” in the pH๏τos. Of course, loyal Arianators defended the Break Free hitmaker, saying: “It looks like her to me, it’s Summertime, she peeped a tan, and her hair isn’t in that ponytail, stop reaching people.” Another fan also told haters to “chill the hell out.”

Has Ariana Grande Had Plastic Surgery?
Grande has consistently denied getting plastic surgery. But her face has obviously changed a lot since 2009 during her time on Nickelodeon’s Victorious. According to Instagram page, @mybeautyconsultant, the singer looks like she’s had surgical brow lift, lip filler, cheek filler, chin filler, mentolabial fold filler, nasolabial fold filler, rhinoplasty, and “lots of Botox.” The page added that they’re sure the 7 Rings singer had a nose job because of the difference in her older and newer pH๏τos. “She’s one of the few celebs who has had a surgical brow lift,” the page wrote in the caption.

“Usually, most celebs get a Botox brow lift, if anything, but in her case the whole brows are significantly higher set not just the outer corners. This is the main cosmetic difference between a surgical and Botox brow lifts,” the caption continued. “Her rhinoplasty is undeniable and made a huge difference for her appearance given her lacking bone structure. Lastly her fillers just added some slight contour and volume to her face. Overall she’s invested a lot into her look and I’d say it definitely [paid] off.”

What Ariana Grande Has Said About Plastic Surgery Rumors
In a 2014 video, Grande addressed the rumors, saying it was “puberty” that caused her face to change. “That’s why I’m on the cover of [a] magazine and they’re saying I got plastic surgery,” she was filmed saying. “G*****, puberty went nice. It came late, but she finally came through for me.” In December 2019, the singer went trending on Twitter after fans accused her of getting a nose job. “Hayyy this is my birth nose, what tf did I log onto today?” the songstress responded. “Lemme have a cute nose, damn.”

The Positions hitmaker has also faced backlash over her body type before. “Curves are Sєxy, sticks aren’t,” an online troll said of her skinny figure in November 2015. The Grammy winner quickly responded, tweeting: “People make it impossible for women, men, anyone to embrace themselves exactly how they are. In case you need a reminder, you are beautiful.” Though she’s never said anything about cosmetic procedures, Grande is all about makeup and using it to enhance one’s looks. “You can never have enough makeup, just like you can never have enough music,” she told Allure in September 2021 after launching her beauty company, r.e.m beauty.
