Kylie said she was ‘beyond thrilled’ to receive the organisers highest accolade which is ‘reserved for truly exceptional artists’.

She has sold over 80M records world-wide and perviously won three Brit awards,    receiving first nomination in 1989.

Following the announcement she said: ‘I am beyond thrilled to be honoured with the global icon award and to be joining a roll call of such incredible artists.

‘The UK has always been a home from home so the Brits have a very special place in my heart. I have some amazing memories from the awards over the years and I can’t wait to be back on the Brits stage.’

The BRITs Icon is the highest accolade given by the awards and is reserved for truly exceptional artists, with previous winners being Elton John, Robbie Williams, David Bowie and Taylor Swift.

Earlier this week, Tate McRae was confirmed as the eighth and final performer and is nominated in International Song of the Year for her UK Top 3 and US Billboard Global 200 #1 hit single ‘greedy’.

Calvin and Ellie are anticipated to play their mega-hit ‘Miracle’ at the awards ceremony as they perform for the first time together.

The pair previously collaborated on the dance-pop anthems ‘I Need Your Love’ in 2012 and ‘Outside’ in 2014.

Becky Hill and Chase and Status will also come together for a ‘celebration of drum and bᴀss’ at the ceremony.

The ‘Disconnect’ hitmaker and the drum and bᴀss duo – comprising Saul Milton (Chase) and Will Kennard (Status) – are nominated for Best Dance Act and Group of the Year, respectively.

Becky is no stranger to the BRITs, having previously performed in 2023 alongside David Guetta.

She said: ‘I can’t wait to perform again on the BRITs and it’s been difficult trying to top flying from the ceiling of the O2 last year, but I’m excited about what we have planned for this year’s performance.

‘I’ve been a fan of Chase and Status my whole life, so to have them on stage performing with me is going to be really special. It’s a real celebration of drum and bᴀss – my favourite genre of music!’

Chase and Status added: ‘For us as producers and artists, being nominated for a BRIT is a special thing. It is a representation of where British music is at, at the highest level, so to be in that category is an honour. Also to be performing with Becky, a fellow BRIT nominee, is pretty special too.’

Nominees include Arlo Parks, Blur, Calvin Harris, Central Cee, Dave, Dua Lipa, Fred again.., Jessie Ware, J Hus, Little Simz, Olivia Dean, Mahalia, PinkPantheress, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, RAYE, The Rolling Stones, SZA, Taylor Swift, and Young Fathers.
