Dua Lipa Sparkles in Strapless Gucci Gown for ‘Argylle’ Premiere Red Carpet in London

Dua Lipa made a glittering entrance on Wednesday night at the premiere of “Argylle” in London. The singer, who appears in Matthew Vaughn’s new spy movie, sported a strapless Gucci gown covered in sequins.

Lipa kept her accessories to a minimum, opting simply for a gold Cartier collar necklace and ring. Her makeup included edgy touches like sparkly eye shadow and smoked-out liner, while the maroon hue of Lipa’s frock matched her dyed waves. In October, she bid farewell to her brunette tresses, debuting her latest hair color on Instagram.

Lipa’s look tunes into two popular trends this season: three-dimensional texture and sparkling embellishments. The latter appears to making a comeback this year as sequins, beads and glistening gowns were one of the biggest red carpet trends in 2023.

Earlier this month at the Critics Choice Awards, Lipa also opted for a textured look, wearing a custom red gown by Prada. She attended the show in support of “Barbie” after making a cameo in the summer blockbuster and penning a hit song for its soundtrack. Despite facing Best Actress and Best Director snubs at this year’s Oscars, Greta Gerwig’s dramedy scored eight nominations, including Best Picture and Best Costume Design.

Out Feb. 2, “Argylle” features Henry Cavill as the titular secret agent, with Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston and Samuel L. Jackson costarring. The film will premiere in theaters before debuting on Apple TV+.

Lipa is a longtime ambassador for Versace, having worn the Italian label on several red carpets in recent years. She collaborated with the brand’s artistic director, Donatella Versace, on their 2024 resort line, “La Vacanza.” The collection debuted in Cannes, France, last summer during the city’s starry film festival.

“Dua is strong, fearless and free and her creative vision is exceptional,” Versace told WWD at the time. Lipa described the opportunity as a “dream” after first meeting the designer in 2017. She then starred in Versace’s fall 2021 campaign, later strutting her stuff during the label’s spring 2022 presentation in Milan.

Among the singer’s other endorsements include Yves Saint Laurent’s Libre fragrance, Puma and Evian.
