DUA LIPA TO RELEASE ‘HOUDINI’ ON THURSDAY, PLANS LAUNCH EVENTS

Dua Lipa has announced that her new single Houdini will be released on Thursday 9 November. She also revealed plans for events in the UK, Japan and the US to celebrate its launch.

“I’m putting on three surprise launch events for Houdini in London, Los Angeles and Tokyo,” Lipa wrote on her X/Twitter page, announcing the news. “The first one’s going to be in my hometown, London, this Thursday!!!”

From there, the next will take place in Los Angeles next Tuesday (14 November), before a third and final stop in Tokyo the following Monday (20 November).

The singer also shared a short clip of the single, adding to the feverish anticipation among her fans. It’s the latest in a series of teasers for her new music, including a series of cryptic clues that led fans to discover that the new single was named after the famed escapologist. Lipa then confirmed the suspicions by sharing the single’s artwork.

Meanwhile, on the singer’s website, fans are prompted to “Sign Up” for “happiness, passion, love, joy, optimism, energy” and “fun.” After plugging in your phone number, expect a message welcoming you to “Dua’s text community.”

Dua has been suggesting a change of direction for her next album in recent months. Back in August, the singer hinted at a new sound in a new interview with The New York Times Style Magazine.

The singer said that the process of making her third album has been “insular and exciting” and suggested that the album will be influenced by 70s psychedelia, she also suggested that Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker may be on board. “You have no idea what the reaction is going to be once it’s out, so there’s this nervous feeling,” she added.
