Kardashian opted for a metallic silver look for the store opening

If you’re a Kim Kardashian fan, you know that the star has been in her Balenicaga era over the past few months. She’s been wearing Demna’s bright-pink catsuits, huge bug-eye shades, and caution-tape creations nonstop. But at the weekend, while opening her new Skims swimwear pop-up shop in Miami, Kardashian nodded back to her pre-Balenciaga style – when she was sporting bike shorts and Yeezy leggings throughout the late 2010s.

Kardashian opted for a metallic silver look for the store opening, including a bra and skintight leggings to match. It instantly made me think of 2018-era Kim K, when she would regularly step out in similar, silvery Spandex tops and bike shorts. Even her clear, PVC booties harked back to this distinctive style era. In 2019, she would rarely be photographed without her trusty Lucite Yeezy heels.

Now, as someone who basically invented the glam athleisure trend, it only felt natural for her to temporarily ditch her discreet, black Balenciaga dresses and slip back into her monochromatic Latex. Her black, Batgirl-like shield shades, however, felt very now – she’s been wearing those Balenciaga sunglasses with everything.
