Madison Beer on the Personal Growth and Being Inspired by The Beatles’ “Yesterday”

Madison Beer joins Kyle Meredith to talk about her new album, Silence Between Songs.

The pop star discusses her growth through therapy and self-care, her attraction to the music of the 1960s, and which song on the new collection was inspired by The Beatles’ “Yesterday.” She goes on to chat about just how much inspiration she finds in the Fab Four.

“‘Yesterday’ is one of my favorite songs of all time, of course,” she explains. “I think I’ve always loved how there’s not really a chorus. It’s kinda of this sort of loop of a song, and I think that’s really interesting… So that was the original inspiration. It was like, how can we write a song that does this never-ending loop?”

Beer also talks of how she developed the LP, taking care to ensure it stands as an album in the classic sense, as well as writing about her brother Ryder and how the album title applied to her life.
