Despite efforts to join the body-positive movement, Bella Thorne received a storm of backlash for her recent GQ Mexico cover.

The actress shared the pH๏τos on her social media pages with a caption claiming she had asked for no retouching and got candid about her own insecurities. Although Thorne’s intentions might have been sincere to call out the industry for its history of heavily editing celebrities to make them look perfect, the internet is not having it.

Many of her fans took to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction that despite asking for no retouching, Thorne still looks flawless.

However, it is not the fact that Thorne has a perfect body that her fans are unhappy about. People pointed out that if she was someone who was outside the Hollywood beauty standards, she would be heavily criticised instead of praised.

On top of the body-positive statement, the Twitterverse is furious about her caption’s last line. Throne wrote, “So hip hop your ᴀsses over the fence and get over it.”

Fans are calling it insensitive because not only is she posing for GQ Mexico but she fails to consider President Trump’s desire to build a wall between the US and Mexico.
