Unhappy childhood, two divorces, Jennifer Aniston learned to accept herself.

Aniston was born into a family whose parents were active in the arts. The star’s father, John Aniston, played Victor Kiriakis in the hit NBC series Days of Our Lives for 37 years. Her mother, Nancy Dow, is a model and actress.

The star had a rough childhood when her parents divorced when she was 10 years old. In 1978, after returning home from a friend’s birthday party, Aniston’s mother said her father was out of town and would return.

However, Mr. John did not return home. “It was a traumatic time in my life,” the actor said in an interview with Rolling Stone in 1999.

Mrs. Dow tried everything to make her daughter love modeling, even though what the star wanted was just to be cared for by her mother. In an interview with Allure in December 2022, she said: “I think divorce changed my mother. At that time, there was no psychological counseling service, my mother lived with long-term pain. Although still traumatized from the past, I forgave my parents.”

The star spent nearly a decade without talking to her mother, did not invite her to her wedding with actor Brad Pitt in 2000. In September 1999, Mrs. Dow released her memoir From Mother and Daughter to Friends . : A Memoir, about a conflict between a grandmother and her daughter.

According to US Magazine , the star and her mother reconciled in 2016. In the same year, Mrs. Dow died of complications from strokes. Four years later, Aniston’s father died.

Like her parents, Aniston did not have a perfect marriage. She and Brad Pitt divorced after seven years of marriage, when Pitt was caught up in rumors of an affair with Angelina Jolie. Aniston was also reported by the media that he did not want to have children.

The star married for the second time to actor Justin Theroux in 2015. Three years later, the two divorced due to lifestyle differences, according to ET .
