After a star-studded evening at the Met Gala , Rihanna threw an epic after party that saw a host of fellow A-Listers celebrate well into the early hours.

Rihanna – who stole the show in a larger-than-life look earlier on the night – threw the glamorous soiree at 1OAK in New York City.

The superstar herself switched up her look for the occasion, toning it down slightly in a silk lingerie-inspired playsuit with feather cuffs and huge square shades.

The celebrity guest list included the likes of Madonna, rumoured former flame Leonardo DiCaprio, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, ASAP Rocky, Kendall Jenner and Rita Ora.

Other famous faces seen partying the night away included Nick Jonas, Kerry Washington, Mary J. Blige and Cara Delevingne.

Inside the party guests sipped on Perrier-Jouët, Absolute Elyx and Tequila Avión cocktails.

Earlier in the night, the pop star was one of the few celebrities who paid homage to the Rei Kawakuba/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between theme in an avant grade Comme des Garçons Fall 2016 look.

She looked incredible in the show-stopping 3D design which featured a variety of colours and multiple layers.

And Twitter naturally went wild over the larger-than-life ensemble, with people wasting no time before flooding the internet with memes and GIFs.

While others simply praised her for sticking to the theme: “Rihanna heard the theme, did her homework, studied the guide & that’s why she’s number one.

“She paid homage to Rei the way it was intended.”

Another wrote: “And there we have it. Everyone can go home now. @Rihanna :).”
